Compound/complex sentences : Definition - Compound sentence - because, and etc. e.g. 'Safier has nice eyebrows because he gets them done.' Connectives : Definition - Word's that join sentences e.g. 'also, as well, meanwhile, on the other hand.' Emotive Language : Definition - Language to make the reader feel. e.g. 'The little boy fell down the stairs.' 2 Foreshadowing : Definition - Something that will happen. e.g. 'The atmosphere or the story could change from positive to negative.' Listing : Definition - Details in bullet points separated. e.g. 'Apples, Pears, Pineapples.' Example 'The choir, the altar, the old wooden pews, the heavy door...' Effect - A clear sense of the church is conveyed by listing the features of the inside. Pace : Definition - The speed of the text. e.g. 'We love animals, Do you? Parenthesis : Definition - 3 A subordinate clause meaning and the use of it's importance. e.g. 'Abbey, who was wearing a ski hoodie glanced at me board.'
