shared understanding and cultural context. Effective communication relies on the
ability to encode (translate thoughts into symbols) and decode (interpret symbols
into meaning).
1.2 Social Learning vs. Cognitive Development
Similarities:
• Both Bandura's social learning theory and Piaget's theory of cognitive
development acknowledge the role of experience in shaping learning.
