SECOND ASSIGNMENT (ASSESSMENT NUMBER 10)
• You will be required to write a literature review for your second assignment.
• Your literature review must be a maximum of five (5) pages (excluding the front page, table
of contents, and references).
Your literature review should summarise the following themes:
1. Summarize the psychological concept of (gender) collective narcissism by providing an
overview of the core aspects discussed in the literature
2. outline the implications of collective narcissism for the individual and the group by
providing evidence from previous research.
3. outline the different methodological approaches to measure collective narcissism.
How do you complete the SECOND ASSIGNMENT?
When completing this assignment, answer the following questions (and provide evidence from
the literature):
1. What is the psychological concept of collective narcissism in general and gender collective
narcissism in particular, and why is it important to study the latter?
2. What differentiates collective narcissism from other positive distinctiveness motivations?
3. What are the possible predictors and consequences of collective narcissism in general
and gender collective narcissism in particular?
4. Consider the context of South Africa and outline at least three reasons why it is important to
study gender collective narcissism. Provide a justification for your claims
