A commitment to quality starts where in the organization?
The commitment to quality begins with a company's top management.
Each plant should have a written QA program. What is this program called and
what are the minimum items to be addressed by it.
Minimum items to be addressed by the QSM are:
-Management commitment
-Definition of organization structure
-Management review of the QA program
-Plant facilities layout and definition
-Purchasing procedures for QC compliance
-Uniform methods for reporting, reviewing, and maintaining records
-identification of training needs
-Control, calibration, and paintenance of necessary equipment
-Standards for shop drawings to ensure accuracy and uniform interpretation of
instructions for manufacturing handling
-Procedures for review and dissemination of project-specific requirements to production
and quality control personell.
There are several categories of shop drawings. Definte at least two types.
Categories of shop drawings:
-ERECTION DRAWINGS: Show an overall layout of products for a particular area. May
be a wall layout (elevation) for architerctural concrete cladding panels or a plan layout
for double-tee floor members in a garage
-INDIVIDUAL PIECE DRAWINGS (Shop Ticket): Piece drawings are prepared to detail
the internal reinforcement to be cast in a particular unit. Also shown are embedded
items and connection assemblies.
