NRNP 6645: Psychotherapy with multiple modalities
NRNP 6645: Psychotherapy with multiple modalities Dr. Loraine Fleming Assignment Due Date: May 07, 2024 Title of the Paper Briefly describe the personality disorder you selected, including the DSM-5- TR diagnostic criteria. Explain a therapeutic approach and a modality you might use to treat a client presenting with this disorder. Please explain why you selected the system and modality, justifying their appropriateness. Next, briefly explain what a therapeutic relationship is in psychiatry. Explain how you would share your diagnosis of this disorder with the client to avoid damaging the therapeutic relationship. Compare the differences in how you would share your diagnosis with an individual, a family, and in a group session. Introduction Among the personality disorders selected is an antisocial personality disorder. In addition to failing to follow social standards, deceitfulness, anger, and a persistent pattern of contempt for and violation of others' rights, antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) is characterized by aggression, impulsivity, carelessness, and a lack of regret, too. Numerous studies demonstrate that SF is not always connected with symptoms, despite the fact that many psychiatric diseases have been proven to affect it. "Antisocial" behaviors like dishonesty, carelessness, and aggression have been reported to exhibit less empathy for others. A related concept in SF is prosocial behavior, a kind of voluntary social action that includes lending a hand, offering comfort, and sharing. Although many motivating elements, such as the desire for reciprocity and social acceptability, are linked to prosocial conduct, altruistic behavior as a subtype frequently refers to other directed activities (6). Although a high level of personal distress (PD) is connected with empathy, the authors of a review that focuses on the relationship between the heart and prosocial conduct observed that compassion was found to be a precursor for altruistic behavior. There are still gaps in the body of evidence for ASPD, according to the National Collaborating Center for Mental Health's national guideline on the management and treatment of this illness in England and Wales.
