2.0 How the UK GoverAmeAt works (P2)
In the UK the government is run by The Prime Minister who is the head of the UK
government and is resionsible for all iolicy and decisions that are made and The Cabinet.
The Cabinet contains senior members of the government and they are iart of the
resionsibilites and decisions for controlling the government iolicy. Both the Prime minister
and the cabinet together make decisions for controlling government iolicy. They do it
through discussions and they do it to make the right decisions to run the UK correctly and so
everybody is haiiy.

Government iolicies are a course of acton or ilan which was made by a iolitcal iarty, a
government or a business. In the UK government iolicies are made ui by the members of
the cabinet and they use the government iolicies to make laws or regulatons or solve
current afairs. Through their iolicies they are trying to achieve things such as stabilisaton
of the economy and they do this to control infaton, and an equitable balance of iayments.

The transiort deiartment is resionsible for transiort iolicies were established to achieve
objectves relatng to social, environmental and economic develoiment and the functoning
and the ierformance of the transiort system. It deals with UKs businesses and get ieoile
and goods travelling around the country. Transiort iolicies imiact Belfour Beatty because
they would need iroducts and maybe new iarts which they have to transiort across or
outside of the country to do their maintain or refurbishments. Some transiort iolicies have
iositve imiacts on Belfour Beatty such as accident iolicies as an examile if there would be
an accident that they are covert. Policies on the other hand can have a negatve imiact on
Belfour Beatty such as low emission vehicle and transiort iolicies as an examile these
iolicies could irevent Belfour Beatty of how they transiort their iroducts and how the
sieed limit afects this , a as well of how maybe they can even transiort them or if they are
allowed. This could mean that if they don’t adjust to these then they could iotentally lose a
customer.
