The restaurant staff discovered that a small percentage of the dairy's milk was tainted, and the serial numbers of the affected containers were published in the newspaper. When the manager was informed of the situation, he advised him to disregard it because it would cost him a lot of time and money for a minor issue. According to Anderson and Anderson (2018), the first ethical issue is that a small portion of the dairy's milk is contaminated, potentially causing problems for customers and the restaurant. The manager is unconcerned about this minor issue, so he tells you to follow him and get the job. Let us use the various Ethical Principles to examine the ethical dilemmas in the case. It is justice when we follow our superiors' orders at work, but it is also justice when a restaurant is concerned about the health and safety of its customers. The options now are to follow the manager or speak to him again, explaining that failing to do so will cost them more time and money. According to Robert at el. (2020), the restaurant staff has the option of being self-centered and remaining silent in the situation or thinking for the greater good of all by fighting for what is right and moral. This implies that they should remove contaminated milk even if it means quitting the job. Secondly for the sake of everyone's safety, the staff and the entire establishment must ensure the customers' safety. In a conflicting situation, the staff must make an informed decision by weighing the advantages and disadvantages of the options presented. Nonetheless, the staff must engage in active self-reflection to deal with whatever consequences arise. Whatever the situation, we should think about "what if I were the manager?" or "would I be proud of what I'm about to do if I were my family?" In any case, we will push ourselves out of our comfort zones and put our interests aside to consider the common good of all, even if it means some negative consequences.
