Good morning to my teacher and fellow classmates. Today I am going to speak about a
character from Arthur Miller's famous play, The Crucible. The character I've chosen to
speak about is Abigail.
The reason I have chosen to speak about Abigail is that she is a strong and an absolutely
villainous character. Abigail in all aspects mostly possesses all negative characteristics
rather than any positive characters. She is one of the characters the reader immediately
despises because of her awful character. She turns around every situation to suit herself.
She hurts others around her to get what she wants. One could say she is an
accomplished magnificent liar. She is also absolutely vengeful, selfish, manipulative and
vindictive. Everything she did was for her own sake and to her own advantage; she had
no regard for anyone else or the damage she was causing in the town and in the courts.
She knew exactly what she was doing; she simply did not care.
She seems to be uniquely gifted at spreading death and destruction wherever she goes.
She has an uncanny sense of how to manipulate others and gain control over them. All
these things add up to make her an antagonist. Her skills at manipulation are on full
display as shown in the book Crucible when
