• In an exam question you’ll get an equation for the graph they want you
draw, and the values they’d like you to draw from.
• It will look something like this:

• Draw the graph of y = 2x – 3 for values of x from -2 to 4.
1. the first thing you have to do is draw a table with the values of x, you w
use this to fill in the values of y.

2. Now you need to use the equation given to find all the values of y
• We start with finding y when x is -2
• We do this by substituting it into the line equation y = 2x – 3
Y = 2(-2) – 3
REMEMBER! The brackets mean multiply so 2(-2) means 2 x -2.
