P1 You MUST describe the role internet marketing has within a modern marketing context.

1. What is internet marketing
Internet marketing is when the business promotes their product or service online on the internet
and increases their awareness, this might have been as adverting and the internet marketing will
help the business to reach to the audience widely so that they can also reach to the people who live
in a different country. Internet marketing will also help the business because it will help the business
to say available 24/7 because internet is available 24 hours. However, internet marking will also
allow small business to promote their business online and on internet, which means that there will
be more competition. Also that not all the people will have internet which means that internet
marketing will not reach to everybody because some people can’t afford to get internet access.
However internet marketing is a great way to advertise because this will reach lots of people
because, all the people 0uses phone and the business can put the advertisement on their internet
and the person can access it via internet on their phone as a result this will increase the number of
customer for the business and will increase the profit of the business because if the customers know
about the product this will increase the awareness and which will persuade the customer to buy it.

2. Why has it become popular?
Internet marketing has become popular because nearly all the business is using it from small
businesses to big businesses and from selling shoes on eBay to the super market. Internet marketing
has also become popular because it is quick and convenient because internet is very quick however,
some slow internet connection can cause difficulties for the business and that some people might
not want to see the advisement so that they will not click on the advert. Internet marketing also
controls the cost of the business because the business will know how many people clicked on the
advert and seen it so that they will only have the pay the amount of money on the amount of people
who have seen it. It has also become popular because it is cheap then the other forms of adverting,
for example the television adverting costs a lot of people and the business can’t be sure how many
people saw it and on internet marketing they will be able to tell how many people saw the advert so
that’s why it has become popular. Therefore, it increases the awareness of the product or the
service that the business is providing, so that more people will buy the product, and products being
sold will increase and this will increase the amount of profit that they are making.

3. What has happened over the last 20 years within marketing?
20 years ago when there was no internet connection the businesses had to advertise on television
and radio which will cost the businesses lot of money, also the businesses had to advertise who
newspapers and magazine which were the only way for the business to reach to the customers and
the business had to spend a lot of money on advertising before. In addition, the business had to do
leaflets and posters were they could reach to the customer. Print advert was also used 20 years ago
which will persuade the people to buy the product. They also did a visual presentation, which was
also useful 20 years ago, and the business went out and talked with the customer verbally to
encourage them to buy the product. However, from 1999 when the internet came it has been easier
for the business to advertise and reach to the customer because it is quick, and now all the business
will have been using the internet marketing because there are more advantages then other forms of
adverting.
