shall not be hiding in the blind belly of a horse” thinks he is better than Achilles, doesn’t need any
help or protection
“Raging and storming and creating havoc” “his mad lust for blood” “ecstasy of passion” “boiling with
rage” could have ended the war by letting others into the camp but doesn’t
BOOK 10:
Juno tricks Turnus, shade in shape of Aeneas, he runs after him, pathetic portrayal
Tries to kill himself once he’s saved “in despair at his disgrace” Juno holds him back because she
pities him
Mocking “now see whether mine is any better at piercing” sending back “the Pallas he deserves” to
Evander, cruel “planted his left foot on the dead body” “tore of the huge, heavy baldric” – hunter,
disrespect
Taking of the baldric (shows death of young people on it of 50 sons) ends up being his downfall at
the end of book 10- he had it coming (cue cell block tango to start playing)
