(Amlodipine, Diltiazem) - treats hypertension, so monitor BP, N/V/V, confusion, urine retention and move positions slowly. What to monitor for with pacemakers? - chest pain, tachycardia, jugular veins, make sure to take antibiotics before dental procedures and avoid metal interactions What should we assess with cardiac dysthymia's? - stress level, exercise, caffeine and alcohol intake, use of decongestants. s/s of an arrhythmias - bradycardia, hypotension, heart failure, pulmonary embolism, avoid smoking, and salt What to do with someone who experiences ventricular tachycardia? - administer O2 in a stable patient amiodarone treats what? - a drug that can treat heart rhythm problems S/S of wound infection - purulent drainage, odor, redness, fever and pain Ophthalmic eye ointment - can treat chlamydia, given within first hour of birth Dehiscence - wound edges pull apart Evisceration - organs began to protrude out signs and symptoms of infection - increase temp, increase hr, decrease BP, n/v, malaise, decrease appetite how long does wound heeling take - 4-6 weeks
