o Surveys
In-person surveys can show an example or sample of a new product
Telephone surveys (people don(t like to be called up)
Mail surveys have low response rates
Online surveys (there is no control over the pool or selection of people that

o Focus groups (a moderator uses specially prepared questions to ask a group)
o Personal interviews
o Observations
o Field trials (involve placing a new product in selected stores to test customer
response)
