In this assignment I'll be explaining how organizations obtain the cooperation of
their employee. The organization that I'll be using in this assignment will be Pizza
Hut.
Explain the relationship between the employee and employer?
When an employer hires a new employee, he is not just bringing a new member of
the workforce aboard, he is also starting a new relationship. Because employers and
employees often work in close quarters, they necessarily develop relationships.
Managing these relationships is vital to business success, as strong relationships
can lead to greater employee happiness and even increased productivity.
What is contract employment?
A contract of employment is an agreement specifying terms and conditions under
which a person consents to perform certain duties as directed and controlled by an
employer in return for an agreed upon wage salary, in other words you can say that
is a contract between the employer and employee. It can be either oral or written,
or express and implied. For example, when an individual at Pizza Hut is starting
work, they will sign the contract which has the terms and conditions, and will
consent to perform certain duties.
The points that are covered in the employment contract is
employment conditions
rights
responsibilities
duties

What are employee and employer rights?
Employers and employees have responsibilities to each other, they should also
expect their rights to be upheld. These rights and responsibilities relate to areas
such as Health and Safety, the provision of Terms and Conditions of Employment,
Equal Opportunities and the right to be paid a Minimum Wage. The Health and
Safety at Work Acts set out responsibilities and rights for both employees and
employers. Employees are expected to carry out their work in a way that has regard
to the safety of others. Employers are expected to abide by a range of requirements
governing such aspects as providing safe machinery and equipment, carrying out
, regular health and safety checks, ensuring the training of employees in health and
safety issues, and carrying out a risk assessment to assess the dangers of particular
work activities. There are also specific regulations about the way in which
potentially harmful substances should be used and stored. There are a number of
requirements about the minimum temperature at work, and other aspects of
working conditions.
There is law which has a huge statutory rights which an employee and employer
must follow to within the contract. There's a few examples below:
to receive equal pay
to be paid at least minimum wage
to receive annual leave
to receive statutory sick pay
to receive redundancy pay
to not be subject to discrimination
to not be unfairly dismissed
Disciplinary procedures - Disciplinary procedures are a set of rules that are given to
an employee by the employer so they know the disciplinary rules in the operation,
so they will know what's right and wrong in the business. The employer ensures that
the employee follows the disciplinary procedure by the employer giving the
disciplinary procedure in writing to the employee, then there is also a minimum
number of steps that must be followed before that employee can be dismissed, and
this is known as a statutory minimum procedures. If an employer does not follow
disciplinary procedures they can be accused of unfair dismissal and they will be
taken to an employment tribunal.
Grievance procedure - A grievance procedure is a process that helps employees
bring something of concern to their employer's attention. The organization
grievance procedure should be given to the employees and it should be published In
the company handbook.
Types of employment contract
Permanent contract - Pizza Hut offers permanent types of contract for different
types of roles, for example Pizza Hut will offer a permanent chef for the kitchen, and
