For example, an internal method may be the hospital board, and an external method may be a professional nursing organization. Discuss why it is important to report your results to both of these groups. How will your communication strategies change for each group? To assist others to benefit from the positive changes resulting from EBP, it is important to disseminate the findings. Many outlets exist for dissemination of EBP including institutional EBP rounds; presentations at local, regional, and national conferences; and publications (MeInyk, 2016). Targeted dissemination activities can include summaries for stakeholders, educational sessions with clinicians, and development and implementation of clinical guidelines. Communicating the results of EBP to different bodies would be in the form of providing a summary of results to key stakeholders at the hospital level such as nursing and executive levels, or nursing educators. At the unit level distribution of research findings to clinical staff can be presented through meetings or educational sessions. When presenting at a conference, it is important to choose the best audience for the work and gaining funding for the conference. Presenting in a journal, such as AORN Journal targets the best audience for the research results. Reviewing the table of contents to see the type of articles important to that group and journal can help with deciding on the best journal. Using the resources provided through the journal will help with the correct formatting each journal prefers (Curtis, Fry, Shaban, & Considine, 2017). It is important to disseminate EBP in as many formats possible for the safe, quality, effective, and efficient patient care. With nursing at the forefront of healthcare, nurses can lead the way to quality, cost-effective practice changes. References
