Adverse Childhood Experiences have been identified in the current study as one of the major causes of the channelings and problems that people face during their adulthood. First, the study related poor educational outcomes, especially at tertiary institutions so some of the adverse experiences that people have as they grow up. The study also cites failures at a job, which include poor performances at workplaces and loss of jobs to chronic stress and trauma that people underwent during their childhood lives. The study is based on secondary data by sampling some of the relevant studies to the current course of research and using them to support the claims of the study. The study is therefore a broad one whose findings ascertain the relationship between negative childhood experiences to their poor performances in education and at their workplaces when they turn into adults. It, therefore, supports the raising of the young generation in environments that nurture them both psychologically and physically. Keywords: ACE, Psychodynamics, Childhood, Chronic Stress, life’s course, performance • Introduction • Introduction to the Problem Both positive and negative experiences that people have during their childhoods have a significant influence on the people they turn out to be as adults. That is because such experiences impact the development of children’s brains. The world is filled with people who grew up in diverse environments where some benefited from living in stable, safe, and nurturing environments, while others experienced trauma during their childhood lives; such children may have also endured chronic stress that was detrimental to their hormonal immunological, as well as neurological development. While the goal of parenthood is to protect children and ensure that they are nurtured so that sober and dependable future leaders and parents can be developed from them, certain circumstances have presented themselves that make the achievement of that either impossible or a challenge. Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) are currently among the most problematic reasons why people poor educational outcomes as well as poor performances at workplaces, which sometimes lead to loss of jobs and subsequent joblessness (Hardcastle, et al., 2018). The problem here is effectively explained in the psychodynamic theory which stipulates that some of the forces that underline the behavior of human beings, their emotions, as well as their feelings are a result of the experiences they had during their childhood. The theory forms part of the various studies that this study is based on to help create knowledge on the need to support positive development in children as a way of securing their future life. • Importance of the Problem Over the last few decades, multiple studies have been carried out to ascertain some of the factors that influence adult outcomes. Some of the factors that have been determined as associated with adulthood outcomes include social affiliations, social status, and stress during their early lives. Reviewing the literature on some of the adverse impacts of childhood life experiences as well as the social circumstances on the life’s chances they have at adulthood can help develop a society where people are sufficiently aware of the repercussions of exposing children to adverse conditions that expose them to trauma and chronic stress episodes (Houtepen, et al., 2020). The current study is as unique as it is important because it both relates the theory of Psychodynamics to the current issues that children undergo, which may affect their adult life, and bases the extent of exploration on the fact that the knowledge on effects of psychodynamics is still developing. The study is carried out with full awareness that data collection on young children poses serious challenges. That is the reason it uses secondary data from various studies, comparing them, and using the data to test the set hypothesis. It is, therefore, a study that is based on a wide perspective of the problem from different scholars, studies, and across different cultural and social setups. • Relevant Scholarship Psychodynamic theory shows that early adversity on children has a negative impact on their future adult education, job, as well as their income. It is therefore very important to prevent children from early adversity however there has never been any clearer way of preventing it since it is associated with many reasons such as health as well as opportunities that surround generation (Giovanelli, et al., 2016). Some of the ways that early adversity is spread are through child neglect and abuse and it is believed that these ways can be prevented successfully if both the public and professional understanding between the link of early diversity and poverty are broadening (Bellis, et al., 2018). Poverty is very much associated with the early adversity of the children, therefore to help reduce the early adversity in children, poverty, and other barriers that reduce the likelihood of children must be prevented. Socioeconomic status such as education, employment, and income are very important in the lives of an adult. Early adversity affects this socioeconomic status negatively and should be prevented at an early age. Child abuse as well as neglects is one way in which early adversity affects the children and later affects their education, employment, and income. A good example is that when a child is exposed to multiple types of child abuses, then the child is likely to have a negative impact on employment when he or she grows up and this has been linked to poverty (Nurius, et al., 2015).
