D082 Task 2
A. Personal Values
1. The first value I want to discuss is honesty. I consider honesty one of the
most important values a person can have. It’s important in every aspect of
someone’s life. Honesty is something you need to have if you want a good
relationship with family and friends, or even a good reputation at your place
of work. Honesty is personally meaningful for me in a workplace setting
because I don’t appreciate being lied to as a customer and as an employee
don’t like to lie to customers to sell a product.
2. The second value that’s personally meaningful for me is respect. Respect is
important to me because I was taught it my whole life. Everyone deserves
respect, no matter how different they or their opinions are from ours. It’s
important to have respect in the workplace toward your coworkers,
customers, and higher-ups to have a healthy workplace environment and
reputation. It’s also important to show respect toward your family members
to maintain a good family dynamic.
3. The third value that’s personally meaningful for me is accountability.
Accountability is valuable because I want to hold myself accountable for
every decision and action I take. In my opinion, those who do not take
responsibility for their actions are not reliable or trustworthy people. It’s
important to have a sense of accountability if you want to be a moral,
dependable, and honest person. Taking responsibility for your actions is
essential in the workplace because it shows the kind of person you are, who
is not afraid to grow and learn. It’s better to own up to your mistakes than
get caught and be seen as a liar.
4. The fourth value that’s personally meaningful for me is open-mindedness.
Being open-minded is important because that way we can have different
points of view and opinions that might benefit us in various discussions. It is
good to keep an open mind so that we might hear different ideas that can
benefit our personal life or work. It’s also important to keep an open mind
when we meet people with different cultures or customs than ours, that way
we can learn new things and be educated.
