Description of Procedure
Cardiac catherization is an invasive imaging procedure that allows the physician to evaluate the patient’s heart functio
This procedure is used to evaluate or confirm the presence of coronary artery disease (CAD), valve disease or disease
the aorta. This is also used to improve blood flow or occluded arteries and veins. Invasive procedures include
percutaneous coronary intervention, coronary artery bypass grafts and peripheral bypass grafts.

Heart failure w/suspected CAD when there is an occlusion
of one or two coronary arteries. Nursing Interventions (pre, intra, post)
Heart valve disease
PRE-Verify the client has signed the informed consent form
Abnormal stress test results
Confirm that a recent chest x-ray, ECG, and lab reports are available.
Angina
Complete a baseline assessment of the clients cognitive status , identify any health issu
