What can you tell us about yourself? - ANSWERHello I would like to start of by
saying thank you to LA city fire department for this opportunity, I'm very grateful and
appreciative. I would like to thank all of you for your time and commitment to such a
great city. My name is Julio Sandoval, I am 21 years old. I currently work for the city
of Oxnard as an EMT. I also work for Oxnard College regional fire academy as a fire
academy coach. In my off time I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing and
exercising. I'm an energetic, easy going, humble individual. Who is striving for a
career in the fire service.
Why the LAFD? - ANSWERLAFD is my dream department for many reasons. LAFD
is a all hazard department with 106 fire stations and a jurisdiction of 470 square
miles I believe I will be able to reach all my career goals and gain lots of experience
working for LAFD. LAFD serves over 4 million people with a wide range of diversity i
know I will be able to meet people from different backgrounds which is something I
want to be a part of. LAFD is full of opportunities and growth which is why I want to
work for LAFD.
Why a firefighter? - ANSWERThere are many reasons why I want to become a
firefighter. I love the team work aspect of the job, having to rely on one another to
complete a task is something I want to be. I love the public servent part of the job,
being there for someone on there worst day brings me lots of self satisfaction, and
self fulfillment. I also admire the fire prevention portion of the job, having the ability to
teach and inform the community of fire prevention strategies aids in having a much
safer community.
