Assumes verbal and abstract abilities start out approximately equal Shipley-2 Population 7 years to adult (89 years) Shipley-2 Utility Excellent brief screening tests of intelligence used in educational, clinical, employment, and research settings Shipley-2 Test Description Two Subtests: 1. Vocabulary: 40 M/C vocabulary items (select synonym), 10 minutes, Power test, Not speeded 2. Abstraction: 25 abstract reasoning items (completion), 12 minutes, Power test, Not speeded *May substitute Block Patterns subtest for Abstraction Subtest 3. Block Pattern: nonverbal, M/C, 10 min. Shipley-2 Scores 1. Each subtest and the overall composite scores are standardized 2. M=100, SD=15 3. Composite score indicates overall cognitive ability. Raw scores converted to standard scores and percentile ranks for each test
