Who came up with it?

A tragic event instigated the formation of a campaign in which its aim was to change the law and the
owner of it are the parents of Lillian Groves. The campaign was named after their son (Lillian’s Law) and
his parents wished to bring justice against the murderer and protect other people who might face the
same event. His family have stated how using the drug-analyser would ‘with no doubt, save lives,
instead of destroying them.’ In contrast, #LastSummer campaign was made by the MND association
which already campaigned on helping people going through the motor neuron disease. This might have
been easier for them to expand their campaign as they were already financially stable and also familiar
with the marketing environment. A campaign which wished to let people be aware of the disease and
the experiences of the people who go through was the reason why they thought of campaigning for
such an idea. Although, what is different from #LastSummer is that Black Lives Matter campaign was
made by three women: Alicia Ganza, Patrisse Cullons and Opal Tometi. They are all dark in skin tone and
this might have appealed most of their supporters because they are also included in the justice of
changing attitudes towards black people. In comparison to my campaign...

How were the campaigns formed?

Sarah’s Law was formed in honour of the death of Sarah Payne. Their 8-year-old child was killed by a
known sex offender living in their in their neighbourhood. A tragic event dragged the parents to fight for
justice of their child and hopefully input a law that permits guardians to ask for any criminal records of
people such as teachers, thus making sure the children are safe. This was advantageous for the family
because many people hearing the story collaborates to their initiatives as it also involves a child’s death
which makes people feel more pitiful because many empathise the parents and how horrible they must
be feeling. A similar background campaign can be Ann Ming Campaign. The initiative for this campaign
came because of the injustice of Julie Hogg’s death. Her mother had to witness her daughter’s death by
the murderer Billy Duplod who was put on with the Double Jeopardy rule which prevents the same
crime to be brought out to court more than once. This was also as advantageous as the first campaign
mentioned as it involved a serious murder which a parent had to go through on their own and fight
justice even by witnessing such cruel event. This attracts people because it involves a horrendous
situation and also the public are more committed when the parents are the one initiating the campaign
as they can easily comprehend their current horrible state on such a tragic matter. However, Dignity in
Dying contrast the two campaigns. This campaign was originally by Dr Charles Killick Milland who spoke
about legalising voluntary euthanasia which then started up with continuous debates with doctors and
even with a wider public. Though the first two campaigns were created by a tremendous event, this one
revolved around the idea of a doctor who wished for the country to ‘Substitute for the slow and painful
death a quick and painless one.’ In comparison to my campaign...

Which were the aims and the purpose?

#LastSummer campaign’s aim was to raise awareness of people who suffer from motor neuron disease,
and it was formed by the MND association. They came up with such an idea by the viral trend on social
media in the name ‘Ice Bucket Challenge’. Many who would participate in this challenge were unaware
