Representation of Gender in the Media The media plays a vital role in people's everyday lives. In essence, it influences how we see ourselves and the rest of the world to some extent. There are different types of media; for instance, we have shows, television, movies, newspapers, and the internet. In these forms of media, men's and women's images are represented differently and have different characteristics. These characteristics, whether we know it or not, can influence us either consciously or subconsciously. In essence, this essay analyzes how the female gender role has been represented in the different media platforms and how they affect the perception of what a woman is to the youths.
