• why you have chosen this syllabus type
The student is a 31-year old Spanish Industrial Engineer on an Intermediate level who wants
to boost his job prospects in a company in an English speaking country. He is keen to
socialise and has meaningful conversations with friends, also when he travels. It was
important to select a multi-syllabus lesson to make sure the lesson aims are successfully
met. This syllabus will meet his expectations of a variety of skills, especially listening and
speaking skills, therefore the multi-syllabus lessons. His wish is that I must correct any
errors immediately. This will ensure that his progress will be smooth and fast. I will focus
on his listening for gist and listen for detail skills. It seems that he becomes nervous when
the interviewer asked him questions, but he fully understood the questions in the

also contribute to my choice for topics. Fortunately, he has a lot of interests and hobbies,
interests in the environment, maths, science, current affairs, and hobbies like football,
music, travelling and movies, which will act as a variety. Using his interests as topics, will be
his motivation to enjoy and engage in the classes.

Should his vocabulary and pronunciation increase, his speaking and listening skills will also
improve. He mentioned that one of his focus points is pronunciation. He has indicated in
the questionnaire that he lacks confidence in listening and speaking skills. Therefore,
