(2009)

This thriller, directed by the director of films like "The Importance of Being Earnest" it
was starring by the famous actors Ben Barner (in the role of Dorian Gray) and Colin
Firth (in the part of Lord Henry Wotton). This new version (based of the famous novel
by Oscar Wilde Irish), try to reveal again the Faustian thematic arguments like
narcissism and hedonism. It all begins when Lord Henry Wotton, how has lustful
ambitions and how´s theory of the life is in based of the hedonistic; is going to visit the
painter Basil Hallaward, who shows him his masterpiece, a portrait of a very beautiful
young. L.Henry was very excited for the beauty of the young and he want to know him.
When L. Henry met Dorian gray (the young how has that extremely beauty)
immediately he shows to Dorian his philosophy of life, which is to be carried away by
pleasure all the time and in based of in the external beauty. After that, Dorian says that
he would give his soul to preserve her youth and his beauty. Later that, he begin to
going to the most infamous places of London, carried away with his sexual urges and all
kinds of vices, unconcerned about the consequences. Once he murdered the painter of
the portrait, Dorian started to become a cruel, selfish and ruthless person. All the
unmoral acts that he made be reflected in the portrait, like the pass of the time,
performing the wish that he was express. After a life full of scandals, and perversions,
Dorian realizes how empty his life really was and suffers remorse for his acts. Against
the wish of L. Henry, Dorian falls in love with her daughter who he feels the need to tell
the truth about his real face and his life. The next night L. Henry goes to the attic where
Dorian save their portrait in order that discover his secret. After faced to Dorian, he
burns the portrait and that is when a being the frightening and horrific person that was
paint in the portrait comes alive. Dorian faced to him and he sticks a sword. After that,
the picture recovered the original face, while Dorian was killed, and he had the
monstrous face of the portrait, which was only the face of her soul.
