Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) is continuing to grow along side of technological advancements in medicine. Because of the rapid changes in health care, we need to come up with a faster solution to be able to access pertinent information when treating patients. “Integrated delivery networks have a need to standardize or harmonize vast amounts of technology across the enterprise for reasons of patient safety, cost control, and improved efficiency.” (Anderson, J., Cooley, T., Torre, C. D. la, Rocco, J. A. D., Dorn, M., Ferer, D. S., Friudenberg, P., Ganio, M., Lim, D., McGregory, M., Nickman, N. A., Schenkat, D., Shah, S., Tjhio, D., Urbanski, C., & Volpe, G. 2018). By harmonizing technologies, we create a standard. With proper research, planning, and implementation, we can achieve a standard across the board for patient information in HMIS, resulting in a reduction of errors, faster information transmittal, and safer patient care.Health Management Information Systems (HMIS) is continuing to grow along side of technological advancements in medicine.
