Treatment Group Proposal

 Abstract: Summary of major points (1 paragraph)

Planning a Group

Purpose

The purpose of this treatment group is to provide a forum for victims of sexual assault to

share their personal experiences and challenges of the trauma. The members will be allowed to

share their concerns and provide feedback to support others in the group to overcome their

challenges. The group will utilize evidence-based treatment options for managing post-traumatic

stress disorder caused by sexual assault. The qualification for a social worker who will facilitate

the group process is an individual who specializes in victim-centered social work, particularly

sexual assault and crime. With a leader qualified in handling victims of sexual crime, the members

utilize knowledge and skills to create a safe and supportive environment that ensures best practices

are integrated to manage the different reactions of the group members. The leader will also apply

appropriate skills to help the clients progress in their recovery journey while applying ethical

practices to protect the client's confidentiality and privacy.

Membership

homogenous environment that fosters healing based on individual experiences and developmental

stages. By grouping according to age, a group leader can apply specific evidence-based strategies

to manage each group.
