, TASK ONE

1.1 taking your culture background into consideration, indicate which one of the
following statements below you agree with, and motivate your answer:

a) The dog, cow, and pig were repeatedly asked to help because it was in their best
interests to work as well to plant the wheat, care for the wheat, cut the wheat, transport
the wheat to the windmill, gather the flour, and even worse bake the bread even after
the Little Red Hen had finished. However, the Little Red Hen believed that she deserved
to eat the entire loaf of bread by herself because she had done all of the work alone
and without assistance. In my view, the Red hen from the litter deserves to reap the
rewards of her . The Red hen from the litter should, in my judgment, be the only one to
benefit from her labor and reject the others because they were never interested in
taking part.

b) In my opinion, there is no connection between Ubuntu and the behavior of Little Red
on the farm. Ubuntu basically implies that "humanity" is a concept that originates from
the Nguni tribe of Bantu people. It can also mean "humanity toward others" or "I am
because we are". Where was Ubuntu then? I think it unjust that the dog, cow, and pig
get to enjoy the fruits of someone else's labor. My argument is that the Little Red Hen has
the option to decide whether to share the breadcrumbs with both the dog, pig, and
cow; she is still within her rights to do so.

1.2. What lesson can we take from the Little Red Hen story?

 From the Little Red Hen, I've learned two aspects. The foremost is to not let people
take advantage of you.
 If you work on anything that has the prospects to be helpful to someone else, if
people don't wish to help, they could perhaps lose out on the entitlements. This is the
way it should be; you shouldn't be able to benefit from someone else's hard work.
 The second lesson I've learnt is that even if someone had the opportunity to assist you
but chose not to, you shouldn't go back to them.

Task TWO:

Interview a community member that has a different language background than yourself
or research from a different language background (not your own). From your interview or
research, provide three proverbs or idioms from another language (not your own) that
teaches warnings and/or serves as motivation. Provide the language, translations, and
meanings or lessons behind the sayings.

Compile your answers using the following table format. Reference your interviewee in
according with the example given at the end of the assignment instructions.
