Judgment and interpretations about the characters named Lucy and Mina

Mina’s story draws a stark difference between her and Lucy. Previously Lucy has transformed a

vampire than hurt some people. She has become a female vampire an a sign of evil. However,

Mina has always appeared as innocent and angel like nature. When she gets a scar on her

forehead, she starts to carry a symbol from Dracula. I think this symbol along with other symbols

such as blood, knight, transformation, garlic represent the gothic atmosphere of the novel.




Moreover differences between characters in terms of good and bad remind me of religion and

ethical values. As Mina’s story stood at the center of pureness, we have understood how evil the

Dracula is and how he can distort the beauty and the innocence. I believe there is a fine line

between ethically right and wrong actions. When Mina has the scar she also possesses a glimpse

of evilness.
