• Please log into The Invigilator App. You need to be connected to the internet in order to log in
• And scan the QR code.
• Scan the QR code above once the examination formally commences.
• Once the QR code is scanned, you can place your smartphone next to you. The Invigilator
App will notify you when an action is required. Ensure your media volume Is turned up.
• You may access your MyExams in the application if you only have one device by pressing the
‘access LMS’ button.
• Please remember to keep your smartphone on charge for the duration of the assessment.
• Keep The Invigilator app open on your cell phone during the assessment. You are not allowed
to leave or minimise the application.
• When an action is required, a notification beep will be heard. Action the request.
• Please ensure you are connected to the internet in order to commence the examination as
well as at the end of the examination. No internet connection is needed during the
assessment.
• It is important to first upload your script to the MyExams. Uploading of app data is not time
sensitive and you can do it after you have uploaded your script to the MyExams.
• It is important to note that you have to adhere to the time limit in your MyExams assessment
as the invigilation time in the app could exceed the time allocated to complete your
assessment.

Read the paragraph below and answer the questions that follow:
Tim is a Grade 1 learner who lives with his grandmother. He has had little access
to books as they stay in a rural area. He has not had an opportunity to engage in
discussions with adults as his grandmother is always busy in her garden and doing
other household chores. He has a limited frame of reference.
1.1 Outline THREE (3) activities that you would do to assist Tim and other
learners in the same situation to develop their frame of reference. (3X3) (9)
1.2 Analyse how you would use the class discussion strategy to develop the
listening and speaking skills of Tim and the whole class. (6)
QUESTION 2: (35)
Read the following scenario and use it to answer the questions 2.1 to 2.3 below:
Emma reads simple books. She can read in phrases rather than word by word and
can read silently to herself rather than out loud. She understands most of what she
reads. She can write more quickly and writes words and short sentences. Her
spelling may not always be accurate, but she has learned most of the high-frequency
words.
2.1 Identify the level of language development that Emma is currently at. (1)
2.2 Justify how the knowledge of the levels of language development will benefit
you to assist the learners in developing their language skills in class. (5)
2.3 Give THREE (3) activities that you can do to assist Emma develop her language skills
based on the language development level she is at. (9)
2.4 There are several techniques and methodologies that can be used to help
children to write expressively and creatively. Answer the following questions:
2.4.1 Design an activity where you will be teaching your Grade 3 class writing
using a shared writing strategy. (6)
2.4.2 Design a scoring rubric that you will use to assess the learners’ work. (8)
2.4.3 Create a checklist that you will use to record learners’ work. (6)
