Task 3(a) – P3
Using the table below, complete an audit of the physical and technological resources
used in your organisation. Compile a report and present your findings relating the impact
of the current management of these resources on the organisation. You will need to
suggest and justify improvements to managing these resources and based on your
research explain why it is important to manage resources successfully.
Type How they are used within your business (Asda)

Physical resources:
Buildings and facilities There are lots of building that are used within asda because there are
millions of asda stores in the UK and there is of facilities that are
available to the customers and it is also known as service that is given
to the customers and there are also building which is the place that the
customers to shop. However if they find an empty building in a suitable
place then asda might have been open a store there however if they is
not any then they might also decide to build one to make the store.
Materials and waste Materials also known as a product is this is what the customers come
to buy and this might be a specific product is targeted to a specific. This
is not manufactures within the store however the material is supplied
by a manufacturer which will then be sold to the customer and the
waste for example the rubbish or the food waste of the worker or the
bills of the customer will then be collected by the government once a
week that they will have to manage the waste however the bins will be
bigger for a supermarket then a house because more rubbish is made
they so that they will need bigger bins.
Machinery and equipment The machinery and equipment that the company might need is that
however if the machinery break down then this will need replacing and
this will be lot expensive and the equipment such as the pump truck etc
then this will be also be used to migrate the product from one place to
another for example from the store room to the shopping area.
ICT The ICT is the most commonly in asda when this is used in the counter
and is also used to keep the records of the staff and the customer and
the products however this will need the electricity to turn it on and this
might increase the electricity bills of asda. ICT is also used in the store
room when the records are kept of how much of the store.
Vehicles The vehicles of the stores are the one that might persuade the
customer to buy because the vehicles will be used to deliver goods to
the customer’s homes. Vehicles will also be used in for example
migrating the products from one store to another.
Fixtures and fittings Fixtures is a piece of furnisher or a piece of equipment that is fixed on a
place which it will need it and without it the store work not work for
example the tills in asda without the tills there would not be any
customer so that it will not work without a till so till is a fixture and also
fitting is when the tills are updated of the price of a specific product.
Maintenance and The maintenance and the refurbishment is needed in the store if there
refurbishment is something wrong for example if there is something needs repairing
then this will be a sort of maintenance if there is something very old
and needs repairing then this will be a sort of maintenance. The
refurbishment is that that they will have to repair something like the
machinery.
Emergency provision The emergency provision will be needed and there should be a fire
alarm and smoke detector so that this will be used to keep the
