Previously, Sally was enthusiastic, actively involved in all lessons and enjoyed playing with her friends. She has stopped completing her homework and refuses to participate in the extramural activities she used to thrive in. There is a school counsellor who works from a house on the same street as the school. During break time one day, Mrs Smith takes matters into her own hands. She asks Sally to go for a drive in her car so that they can chat. She drops Sally off at the school counsellor down the road instead. The counsellor agrees to do an assessment of Sally to set counselling goals so that they can meet weekly during school hours for the next six weeks.
