• Reduce anxiety through clear communication
Orientation to Unit
Patients should be shown:
• Unit routines and policies
• Use of bed controls and lights
• Call light system (bed & bathroom)
• TV/phone/intercom
• Location of bathroom, shower, lounge
• Nurses’ stationThis increases patient safety and promotes independence.
