1. Time Available Ditching. What briefing will the No1 give to the ABPs, for the
situation where CC are incapacitated?
a) Brief the ABPs on:
• WHEN – The aircraft has come to a complete stop, unstrap from seat, check outside
conditions, do not wait for Captain's command as clearly catastrophic, remove incapacitated
CC from the jumpseat, and open the door.
• WHAT – Check outside for water blocking the door. If exit unusable redirect passengers to
other available exit.
• HOW– Turn the handle in the direction of the arrow then push the door out and towards
the front of the aircraft until it is fully open.
• PASSENGER INSTRUCTIONS – “Come this way, keep moving, jump” or “Exit
blocked”.
For each door instruct 1 ABP to stay inside the cabin and 1 ABP to go into the water.
Ensure the ABP understands all instructions.
Instruct ABPs on the use of the CC harness in case of CC incapacitation.
Show the ABPs to their seats.
b) Brief the ABPs on:

available exits” remove incapacitated CC from the jumpseat, and open the door.

• HOW– Turn the handle in the direction of the arrow then push the door out and towards
the front of the aircraft until it is fully open.
