The world we live in is fuelled by digitalization and with digitalization comes social media. The free and
instant access to media used to be a luxury and has become a necessity. People are used to the
ability of connecting with each other from anywhere in the world. Despite digitalization being one of
mankind’s greatest achievements, it has many cons as well. As a matter of fact, research has shown
that the use of social media can affect the mental health (Business Insider US, 2020). For instance,
cyberbullying has never been easier due to social media. People will hide behind their screens while
provoking others. In addition, peer pressure and forming a false reality are also known problems in the
world of the megatrend social media.
