- Triad of infantile spasms, EEG pattern of hypsarrhythmia, and
developmental delay
- Typically disappear by the fourth or fifth year of life
- A regression or an arrest of psychomotor development
- Sudden, rapid tonic contraction of the trunk and limbs that quickly relaxes
- Tx with Vigabatrin (will need REMS program in order to prescribe and
requires a visual field test q6months)

Acute Bacterial Rhinosinusitis

- Secondary bacterial infection of paranasal sinuses usually following URI
- Sx: URI symptoms for 10 days or more without marked improvement,
severe sinus pain, sinus pressure, fever, nasal congestion, decreased
hearing, tenderness on palpation, purulent nasal discharge
- Tx: first line is Augmentin, if allergic to Augmentin may use doxycycline;
intranasal irrigation, intranasal corticosteroids
