Executive summary
The success of organizations today depends on how well the management defines the
organizational goals. Achieving these goals requires the management to integrate different
departments within the organization to ensure that they are working together to accomplish a
common goal. It accomplishes this through the different management functions namely;
planning, controlling, organizing, leading, and coordinating. Leadership is perhaps the most
crucial function of management. There are different leadership styles that an organization may
choose from. Organizations will choose a style that will be most effective in achieving
organizational goals. However, organizations are often faced with different management issues
that make achieving the organizational goal difficult. Staffing is an issue that is facing Swiss Re
in its attempt to meet organizational goals. Its main issue is the high rate of employee turnover.
Different theories have been developed to deal with any management issues that may be arising.
Swiss Re can adopt the scientific management theory to help solve the issue of high employee
turnover rate. Also, it is a recommendation that it increase its CSR practices to help in retaining
its employees.
