Esther Mahlangu is a renowned South African artist
known for her vibrant and bold Ndebele paintings. Born
in 1935 in Middelburg, Mpumalanga, she grew up in a
traditional Ndebele household where she learned the art
of painting from her mother and grandmother. Ndebele
painting is characterized by its geometric patterns and bright colors, often used to decorate
homes and objects.
She grew up in very rural area in Middelbrug
