For the purposes of these Regulations, the Airfield
Operations Area refers to runways, taxiways and other
areas of the airports that are used for taxiing,
hovering, take-off and landing
of Aircraft, areas used-for entry to and exit from
Aircraft, as well as loading ramps and aircraft parking
areas and
areas not necessarily under the control of the ATCT
Airfield Operations Area
and any adjacent areas not separated by an adequate
(AOA)
security system, and includes, but is not limited to, the
Movement Area. (Note, for the purposes of other
airport
rules and regulations, the AOA is more narrowly
defined, but for the purpose of these regulations,
areas inside the
security perimeter fence will be considered part of
the AOA, unless designated otherwise).
