While April was raised in a warm and loving environment, Judi was raised in an emotionally
chaotic environment. The experiences they have with their caregivers being completely
opposite. Judi was deprived of emotional stability in the home, preventing her from developing
a healthy emotional life, and the ability to understand and manage her emotions appropriately.
April was raised in a loving and emotionally stable home, so her socioemotional development
was more advanced. April didn’t suffer from lack of emotional support so she is more capable
of recognizing and managing her emotions.

April’s parents were very supportive and gave her lots of positive reinforcement, which
contributed to her high level of self-confidence. Due to the support and positive emotional
support she received in her childhood April was able to form and maintain positive
relationships in her social relationships and professional. Judi’s parents were dependant on
substances and suffered from mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression, causing them to
lack emotional support. Judi also found herself with partners who were psychologically
abusive, which caused her further issues with her socioemotional development.
● Explain whether nature or nurture had a more significant role in April’s and Judi’s

Nurture had a very significant role in April’s development. April had a loving, supporting family,
and a very healthy home life growing up. April was successful in all her endeavors throughout
her teen and adult years, as well as managed healthy relationships in all aspects of her life.
April was able to accomplish these things and manage healthy relationships because she was
more emotionally developed than Judi because of the positive experiences she had throughout
her childhood. Nurture significantly affected Judi’s development, her father suffered from
alcoholism, and her mother suffered from anxiety and depression. April was raised in an
emotionally chaotic home, preventing her from having the opportunity to learn how to
