Service Line Development AMT2 Task 3 Trends The current trend that will be affecting Trinity is the state and national levels to reduce payments to hospitals. As expressed from board members and multiple physicians, they are concerned about how this will affect physicians. Since this is a state and national level then there are a lot of other hospitals including Trinity that will be affected by this change. The next trend for the healthcare industry is the Medicaid expansion. As said from Editors, “more people have access to healthcare than before.” This will affect all hospitals as more people have access to medical services. These trends both will affect hospitals as it impacts the amount of service they provide to patients. Impact The impact of reducing physician’s reimbursement is that it will be hard when recruiting more physicians. If physicians aren’t reimbursed enough then they won’t work for Trinity, they will work where they are properly reimbursed.
