What would happen if there was free healthcare?

In many countries, citizens have to pay for health insurance, but prices are very
different in each country. In the Netherlands, there is a lot of talk about health
insurance in politics. For example, each political party has its own position on health
insurance. The party of the animals says "basic packages should be expanded to
include dentist care and physiotherapy". If you want good insurance in the
Netherlands, you have to pay a lot more than a health insurance that offers slightly
less. That is why healthcare insurance must be free, as a consequence that all
citizens are treated equally and everyone receives the same care. This way there is
no difference between the citizens.

The first argument against the thesis statement is basic healthcare is free, so there is
no difference between people (Ministerie van Algemene Zaken, 2021). Everyone
who is a resident of the Netherlands must have basic health insurance. The basic
insurance covers the costs of the doctor, pharmacy or hospital (Ministerie van
Algemene Zaken, 2021). A few features of the basic package are: the basic package
is the same for every resident of the Netherlands, the basic package is determined
by the government and a health insurer must accept your application for the basic
package. The second argument against the thesis statement is If healthcare were
free, there is a chance that the emergency room would be overcrowded and people
would not be able to get help (Gaille, 2020). People are more likely to go to the
hospital for help with free healthcare, while sometimes it isn't necessary. The final
argument against the thesis statement is If healthcare were free, tax would be more
expensive. This could cause people to have problems paying taxes. Because health
insurance will be free. In Canada people have free healthcare, but actually it’s not
completely free because the citizens of Canada have to pay a lot of tax. Between the
years 1997 and 2021, the tax costs have increased 3.4 times. This means that
Canadians pay a lot for tax, for this reason healthcare is not completely free
(Goldstein, 2021) 20

However if you want good health insurance in the Netherlands, you have to pay
extra. An example is if you want extra reimbursement for the doctor or dentist, you
have to pay a lot more money for your health insurance (Ministerie van Algemene
Zaken, 2021). Here there will be a difference between the health insurance of rich
and poor people. An argument against the second counterargument is: if the
government builds more hospitals, there will be more room for sick /injured people.
An example is that 40 hospitals are being built in the United Kingdom by 2030 (Gov,
2020). An argument against the thirth counterargument is: more people will be able
to work, because they will be helped when they are sick. Since people are no longer
incapacitated for work, they can go back to work and pay their taxes with the money
they earn.
