Resting heart rate (RHR) - the number of times the heart beats per minute while at rest, and
recovery time - amount of time it takes for the heart to return to RHR after strenuous activity, are
good indicators of one's level of cardiorespiratory endurance. The quicker you recover and the
lower your RHR, the better your cardiorespiratory endurance is.


4. Flexibility - ability of joints to move through their full range of motion. Good flexibility keeps
joint movements smooth and efficient. Lack of use can cause joints to become stiffer as you get
older.
Any activity that involves a joint moving through a full range of motion will help maintain
flexibility.


5. Body Composition - the ratio of lean body tissue (muscle and bone) to body fat tissue. A
healthy body has a high proportion of lean body tissue compared to body fat tissue. Too much
