World History Assessment Task 1 WGU D266 Completed and Passed on
Second Submission.

A.
1.
The text states, “Christianity spread within and then beyond frontiers of the Roman
Empire” (Anon). The Roman Empire helped encourage the spread of Christianity
by spreading His teachings even after He was crucified on the cross and rose from
the dead three days later! Due to apostles like Paul, the spread of Christianity and
the name of Yahweh continued to spread. Also, the roads were a huge asset to the
spread of the Gospel. Without these, it would have been impossible to reach the
amount of people they did. Then, Christianity continued to evolve over the world
due to followers sharing the Good News.

2. Christian culture took a huge spread when the Holy Bible was released and put
together from the journals and teachings of Christianity. The life of Christianity
was finally put to paper, where people all over the world could hear the Good
News. The text states, “In addition to the importance of his ministry, the earliest
existing written Christian sources are the letters of Paul.
The earliest letters, probably composed between 50 CE-60 CE, were written
even before the Gospels” (Anon). Due to the Holy Bible people were able to
read and share the Gospel accurately and like never before.

B.
1. The text states, “According to Islamic tradition, a merchant named
Muhammad received a revelation from the Archangel Gabriel and he began
to recite what he had heard. Gabriel's revelations continued and were
eventually recorded as the Quran, the holy text of Islam, meaning
“recitation” or “revelation,” believed to be the literal words of God, Allah”
(Anon).
Economics helped shape the spread of Islam due to trade and bartering. With trade
and barter came those of Islam religion wanted others to convert before trading.
Or they believed that this religion was popular and they wanted to fit in (Anon).
Due to trading being such a source of food and income, or wanting to simply fit in
this impacted the spread of Islam religion.
Trading meant the individuals would need to come in contact with one another,
which resulted in story telling, and advancing their beliefs along with those they
traded with. Muslims controlled half of the Silk Route, which made Islam advance
during this time. Many wanted what muslims had, for instance, money,
belongings, trade route, and even their God due to Islamic control.

2. . Islamic culture was spread in many different ways, one being the spread by
knowledge. Leading up to this, the Abbasids were angry from the three year civil
war they previously fought and now chose to use this anger in what they believed
was a righteous way (Anon). Abbasids declared victory and the empires were
slowly separated (Anon). As stated in the text, “The Abbasid caliphs sponsored a
translation movement, supported knowledge and learning in science, philosophy,
law and other disciplines” (Anon). Also, “the Abbasids welcomed the conversion of
non-Arabs. People increasingly converted to Islam occurred under the Abbasids.
Muslims became a slight majority in the empire in this period, although they
continued to live alongside people of other religions” (Anon). The Abbasids also
started working closely with Southern and Central Asia, which expanded trade
eastward (Anon). This trade linked them by the Silk Road. These citizens were not
treated like different and non-accepted human beings, instead, the Abbasid made
them feel included, which helped spread Islamic faith more. They also supported
in translation, knowledge, science, philosophy, and more. For example, “Islamic
schools, madrasahs, imparted religious teachings such as religious texts based
on the Koran and associated writings and focused on Arabic grammar” (Anon).
