Introduction
This article is about how parents and caregivers can support a toddler's language
development. Toddlers are at a stage of development where they are learning how
to comprehend and communicate. This article gives specific techniques and
examples to help parents effectively support their toddler's language
development. Some other topics that I will discuss are how language development
starts and how it affects a child's brain development. Let's get into it!

One important topic the article talks about is following the lead of the child. This is
a simple way that parents or caregivers encourage language development. A great
example of this is stated in the article where it says, “Your job is to pay attention to
what they are interested in and follow their lead. If your child looks at their train,
you can talk about the train. If they push something, talk about it!” By following the
subtle hints a toddler gives, you’re allowing them to learn how to make
conversation at their own pace. When talking to a toddler, it is important to use
both Self Talk and Parallel Talk. Parallel talk is talking about what someone is
doing while self-talk is talking about what you are doing and a perfect place to use
these different ways of talking is during playtime. For example, If you and a
