What should I do before I start reading anything? - SKIM ALL THE QUESTIONS FOR THAT
PASSAGE
What's the VERY first thing I should do? - Skim through the test to see what types of passages
are on it
Should I answer the hardest questions first? - No- get as many easier questions answered as
possible first. Save the texts you'll struggle with for after.
When I'm totally done, should I hit submit? - I should wait a few minutes (but NOT fall asleep)
and then go back through my answers with FRESH eyes in case I missed anything.- check for
skipped questions
What do I do with Part A + B questions? - See what answers match or support one another to
help eliminate distractors.
What is parallelism? - Identifying the PATTERN in a sentence's grammar and making sure it all
matches (walking, talking, and running NOT walking, talked, and running)
What does a semi-colon ; do? - Links 2 parts of a compound or complex sentence together that
could stand alone as two sentences by themselves but are joined together
