Why are the ADL’s and IADL’s important for kinesiologists who work with people who are elderly or have
disabilities
 Kinesiologists can help these people to be active without asking them to go to gym, or
doing workouts.
 Kinesiologists can make these people active at home by influencing them to do these
ADL’s and IADL’s.
(understanding their level of independence and identifying potential areas where assistance or
intervention may be needed)

, What do ergonomists do?
 Study how people interact with their work environments, tools, and equipment.

Look this up! Do inactive parents produce inactive children?
 There’s nothing like that but parents influence their children that way they do. For
example, if parents join their kids for the workout, the kids most likely will be active. So,
parents don’t directly influence but influence their children’s sedentary behavior.
