ASSIGNMENT 2
TASK
Write a substantial literature review(1900)
Structure
1 )Introduction (your introduction should include a definition of literature
review, use at least 3 sources. Also explain why we need a literature review in
research .use at least 3 sources.)
A literature review is one of the most important steps in the research process. It
involves reading and studying books, journal articles, and other sources that
relate to the topic a researcher wants to study. The purpose of this review is to
understand what has already been written on the topic, what researchers agree
or disagree on, and what areas still need more research. This step helps the
researcher build a strong base for their own study. According to Creswell (2014, p.
37), a literature review is “a written summary of articles, books, and other
documents that describes the past and current state of knowledge on the topic of
study.” This means that a literature review is not just a list of books or articles, but
a thoughtful summary of important ideas and findings from past research.
One of the key reasons for doing a literature review is to provide background for a
study. When researchers want to study a topic, they must first understand the
history and current state of knowledge about that topic. This helps them show
why their study is important. Boote and Beile (2005, p. 3) explain that a good
literature review helps show the significance of a new study. In other words, it
helps answer the question, “Why does this research matter?” By showing what
has already been studied and what has not been explored yet, the researcher can
explain how their study will add something new to the field.
