Analyse the information in the class summary. What are your learners’ strengths and weaknesses?
(max. 100 words)
The class summary shows that all the skills apart from reading need enhancing. As they are of different backgrounds, speaking,
listening and writing in English can be challenging. Therefore, the lessons will be planned based on the summary.
Which two skills have you chosen to teach in this lesson? Why? (minimum 150 words)
The two skills I have chosen are listening and reading.
The reasons for choosing these skill sets are as follows:
Listening - In contrast to TOEFL, IELTS applicants may anticipate to hear many accents, ranging from regional British accent to North
and South American and South African accents. It is a bizarre addendum to the history of IELTS which started as ELTS but earned an
initial "I" by inviting additional English-speaking nations to take the migration test. Students should also be taught to predict
responses, as well as analyse questions. Predicting isn't the same as conjecturing, because you don't want them to write their
prediction down. What is the prediction? If students have analysed the issue correctly for content and grammar. It is therefore a
wonderful addition to the preceding suggestion.
Reading: Even though the class summary shows that most of the students have scored high in the reading skill, more practice will help
them enhance the skill. It is a good way to understand the exact levels these students regardless of what is in the summary. This will

also help understand the problem areas as well as create an window for open discussion which will lead to the speaking skill.
Which lesson topic have you chosen? Why? (minimum 100 words)
The environment is one of the most prevalent subjects in the IELTS examination. Therefore a broad range of environmental
vocabulary is necessary. Students may be asked to write about it, or may choose to read or listen to the surroundings. It might be a
major topic in the speech examination. If students answer inquiries on other matters like where they lived, how they travelled, they
may also require terminology in the surroundings. It is essential that the students be prepared for the topic in its various categories as
well as understand how to use the vocabulary to answer the questions.
Lesson Aims: Lesson Outcomes:
By the end of the lesson, students will be better able to… By the end of the lesson, students will have…
understand the how to approach the questions and answer them used the strategies they have learnt in order to answer the
in the manner required. questions.
Anticipated difficulties: Suggested solutions:
(include at least three points covering: students’ L1, the tasks,
classroom management, any other relevant points) 1. Make the activities a little easier
1. The activity might be rather tough for students. 2. The concept could be broken down in order for the students
to understanding.
2. Students might find the topic challenging to grasp.
