1.1.1 Literacy is the ability to read, write, speak, and
understand language in various forms to communicate and
make sense of the world around us.
1.1.2 Emergent literacy refers to the early skills, knowledge,
and attitudes that children develop before they can read and
write conventionally. It includes listening to stories,
recognizing letters, scribbling, and understanding that print
carries meaning.
1.1.3 Technology has significantly influenced literacy in
education by making digital texts, interactive e-books, and
multimedia learning tools more accessible. It supports
different learning styles, encourages collaboration through
digital platforms, and promotes reading and writing skills
through apps and games. However, it also poses challenges,
such as reduced attention spans and unequal access to
technology.
