Teas 7 Human Anatomy and Physiology

Abdominal Quadrants - ANS-Right top quadrant- Duodenum, a part of the ascending and
transverse colon, hepatic flexure, liver, gallbladder, pancreas(head) proper kidney, and proper
adrenal gland
Right lower quadrant- cecum, appendix, proper ureter, right fallopian tubes, and proper ovary
Left upper quadrant- belly, liver, pancreas, left kidney, left adrenal gland, splenic flexure, spleen,
part of transverse and descending colon
Left decrease quadrant- left ureter, left fallopian tube, left ovary, a part of descending colon, and
sigmoid colon

Abdominal Regions - ANS-Right Hypochondriac- right kidney, liver, gallbladder, and small
intestines
Epigastric- stomach, liver, adrenal glands, pancreas, spleen
Left Hypochondriac- left kidney, spleen, pancreas, colon
Right Lumbar- ascending colon, liver, gallbladder
Umbilical- small intestines, duodenum, umbilicus
Left Lumbar- descending colon, left kidney
Right lilac- cecum, appendix
Hypogastric- bladder, female internal reproductive organs, sigmoid colon
Left iliac- descending and sigmoid colon

Adrenal cortex - ANS-outer phase of every adrenal gland; secretes cortisol, aldosterone, and
sex hormones.
Mineralocorticoids- target the kidneys, will increase the purpose of NA and excretion of K
Glucocorticoids- goal maximum tissues, launched in response to long-time period stressors,
growth blood glucose
Androgens- target maximum tissues, stimulates improvement of secondary sex traits

Adrenal Medulla - ANS-positioned on pinnacle of the kidneys.
Epinephrine and norepinephrine- target coronary heart, blood vessels, liver and lungs, increase
heart rate, boom blood sugar

Anterior - ANS-Front frame structures

Arterial and venous structures - ANS-Tunica intima- innermost layer, Tunica media- consists of
smooth muscle cells and elastic fibers. Tunica adventitia- outermost layer.
Elastic arteries- consists of the aorta and main branches. Tunica media has extra elastin, and
are the biggest vessels. Recoils underneath low stress
Muscular arteries- arteries that department off the elastic arteries. Regulates blood glide by way
of vasoconstriction/dilation.

, Arterioles- tiny vessels that result in the capillary beds. Primary vessels concerned in
vasoconstriction/dilation, manipulate blood drift to capillaries.
Venules- Empty blood into larger veins
Veins- carry blood lower back to the coronary heart

Bicuspid valve(left AV valve) - ANS-prevents blood from coming into the left atrium while the
ventricle contracts.

Blood glide in the coronary heart - ANS--Oxygen terrible blood input proper atrium and flows
into right ventricle thru vena cava
-Blood is pumped from right ventricle into pulmonary artery (is going into lungs)
-Oxygen rich blood returns to heart through pulmonary vein and enters left atrium and flows into
left ventricle
-Blood is pumped into the aorta and circulated to frame

brain characteristic - ANS-patterns of brain interest

Cardiac cycle - ANS-P wave- first phase of the cycle and corresponds to the wave of
depolarization that spreads from the sinoatrial node to the atria.
Q wave- is visible as the negative wave on ECG, small length. Second phase.
R wave- is a wonderful wave and is the principal portion of the QRS complicated and is
accompanied by the S wave.
T wave- represents ventricular repolarization, or healing of the ventricle. It is longer than the
QRS complex and is observed via U wave.

Cardiovascular gadget - ANS-Transport oxygen, vitamins, hormones, ions, and fluids all through
the frame and eliminates metabolic wastes.

Caudad - ANS-Is an adverb which means toward the tail or posterior.
Caudal means hindquarters

Cephalad or cephalic - ANS-are adverbs meaning towards the top.
Cranial is the cranium

Chambers of the coronary heart and their characteristic - ANS-The advanced "receiving"
chambers are the atria
Right atrium- gets blood from the vena cava
Left atrium- receives blood from the pulmonary veins
The muscular "discharging" chambers are the ventricles
Right ventricle- pumps blood into the pulmonary trunk
Left Ventricle- pumps blood into the aorta.

Chemoreceptors - ANS-olfactory and taste receptors come across the presence of chemical
substances
